The Southern Door boys are now all alone atop the Packerland Conference standings as they beat Kewaunee in overtime Thursday, 79-67. The Eagles (7-0 Packerland / 9-4 overall) outscored the Storm in the extra period, 15-3, with 13 of those points coming from the foul line. Drew Daoust scored 14 of his game-high 41 points in OT, as he hit 12 of 12 free throws and went 19 of 19 from the line on the night. Tied at 31 at halftime, Kewaunee (6-1 / 8-4) outscored Southern Door 19-7 over the first seven and a half minutes of the second half, but the Eagles rallied with a 26-14 run from that point. The Storm still had a chance late as they had the ball with three seconds remaining in regulation but came up empty on the possession. Matthew Malvitz scored 12 points while Caden Pierre and Tyler Neinas each added 11 as Southern Door won their fourth straight. Thomas Stangel scored 23 points for Kewaunee while Connor Kilgore added 21 and Braxton Riha chipped in 12 points.
