Propane Truck Accident Closes Highway 42 Tuesday

There was a 2-vehicle crash shortly before 12:00 noon Tuesday, just south of Carlsville near the intersection of Highway 42 and Town Line Road, and one of the vehicles was an overturned propane truck. The Door County Sheriff’s Office put out a warning that the truck overturning involved some spillage.
The propane truck had collided with a cargo delivery van and both vehicles were overturned in the roadway. Being near the border of the towns of both Sevastopol and Egg Harbor, the fire departments of Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor responded to the scene. Also on the scene were Door County EMS, the Sheriff’s Department, and Door County Emergency Management. Sturgeon Bay Fire Chief Kalin Montevideo tells us how the propane from the truck was mostly secured by the driver…

Egg Harbor Fire Chief Justin Macdonald explains his department’s protection provided while the driver was removed from the delivery van…

That area of Highway 42 was closed off and highway traffic was detoured using county roads I and P to move traffic around the crash scene. No medical transport was required from the incident. By 4:15 PM, the accident area was cleaned up, both vehicles were towed away, the scene was cleared, and that section of Highway 42 was re-opened.
