Eagles Sweep


Southern Door won both games of a Packerland Conference baseball doubleheader at Memorial Field on Thursday. The Eagles won the opening game, 4-3, as Will Jandrin drove in the winning run in the top of the 7th inning with an RBI double. Jandrin also pitched two innings of perfect relief for the win after Tyler Neinas went the first five innings. Jerik Valley had two hits for Southern Door. The Clippers scored three unearned runs in the 5th inning to tie the game at 3-3.

In the nightcap, the Clippers scored twice in the top of the 7th as Trey Vanderleest and Patrick Haese plated runs for a 4-2 advantage, only to see the Eagles answer with 3 runs in the bottom of the frame. After a Neinas one out single, Jandrin blasted a game tying two run home run and Gaige Geisel had a walk off single that scored Isaac Baudhuin. Jandrin pitched the first 6.1 innings with Nick Beck getting the win in relief. Danny Lodl allowed two unearned runs in six innings for Sturgeon Bay.
