The Gibraltar-Washington Island baseball team won a Division 4 regional championship as they beat Reedsville Thursday, 4-2. The Vikings (18-9) struck first as Brady Kita singled and scored on Cam Munao’s first inning sacrifice fly. After Reedsville had tied the game at one, Gibraltar-Washington Island scored three times in the third. Aaron Brey and Owen Dannhausen both had sacrifice flies and Munao hit a solo home run. The Panthers would score a run in the sixth, but Brady Kita came on and got a ground ball with two runners on. Brey pitched the first five and two-thirds for the win and Kita got the final four outs for the save. Gibraltar-Washington Island wins its fourth regional championship since 2018. The Vikings will play Pacelli (15-11) in a sectional semifinal Tuesday at 1 PM at Rosholt on WDOR. Pacelli beat Gibraltar-Washington Island in a regional final last season.
