NWS Issues Winter Storm Warning, Winter Advisory


The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Winter Storm Warning, which is in effect until 7AM Thursday, for Door County.

Heavy snow expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 4 – 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 45 mph and producing areas of blowing and drifting snow tonight.

The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.

 

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which will be in effect from 7PM Wednesday until 7AM Thursday, for the counties of Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Brown.
