NWS Issues Winter Weather, Cold Weather Advisories

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which will be in effect from 3AM until 12PM Monday, for Door County.

Considerable blowing and drifting snow expected as fresh snow on the Bay of Green Bay blows across Door County. Total snow accumulations up to one inch. Northwest winds gusting as high as 45MPH.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The primary hazard will be due to areas of blowing and drifting snow that are expected to significantly reduce visibility, with brief whiteout conditions at times late Sunday night into mid morning Monday. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. The strong winds could bring down tree branches, resulting in isolated power outages.

Wind chill readings will drop to as low as 10 – 15 below zero late Sunday night through Monday morning.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Cold Weather Advisory, which will be in effect from 3AM until 12PM Monday, for the counties of Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Brown, Oconto, and Marinette.
