Design 2 Construct names new president

Terry Koth

Jackson-based Design 2 Construct announced Wednesday that Terry Koth has been appointed president, a move the company said supports long-term continuity and growth.

Koth will lead day-to-day operations and has also acquired an ownership interest in the design-build commercial construction firm. He joined Design 2 Construct in 2015 and most recently served as vice president of operations.

With more than 40 years of experience in construction and project management, Koth has played a key role in advancing the company’s growth strategy, the company said in the announcement. In his operations role, he led efforts to formalize systems and processes aimed at improving efficiency and scalability while maintaining the company’s culture.

“I am honored to step into the president role and to deepen my investment in a company that has shaped my career,” Koth said in the announcement. He said his focus will be on strengthening operations, developing teams and pursuing opportunities aligned with the firm’s long-term vision.

Founded in 1991, Design 2 Construct employs 32 people today. Its portfolio primarily consists of industrial buildings, dental offices and other commercial builds like retail, office, education facilities and churches.

Company founders James Blise and Tate Boho will remain involved in emeritus roles as CEO emeritus and president emeritus, respectively. They will serve on a strategic advisory board, focusing on strategy, leadership mentoring and maintaining the company’s culture and values.

“We are confident in the direction of Design 2 Construct under Terry’s leadership,” Blise said. “His operational expertise and leadership approach align closely with the principles Tate and I established as we laid the foundation for the company over the past 35 years. We look forward to continuing our involvement and supporting the team as the company enters its next chapter.”
