Milwaukee-based marketing, advertising and communications agency Cramer-Krasselt plans to move from its longtime Historic Third Ward headquarters at 246 E. Chicago St., according to plans submitted to the city’s Department of Neighborhood Services.
The firm plans to relocate a few blocks away to 117 N. Jefferson St.
The move is tied to plans to convert the 224 E. Chicago St. building (which includes the Cramer-Krasselt space) into a hotel. The three-story, 83,260-square-foot building was constructed in 1917 for Monarch Manufacturing Co. Middleton-based North Central Group Hospitality (NCG) plans to convert it into a 133-room AC Hotel by Marriott.
C-K has occupied space in the building since 2008.
According to the building permit, the company will lease less than 10,000 square feet of space for 23 employees at 117 N. Jefferson St. The move will occur at end of August.
“We were fortunate to find a great space at 117 N. Jefferson that works really well for our team and allows us to stay in the Third Ward, which was important to us,” a company spokesperson said. “We’re excited about the move and this next chapter for our Milwaukee office.”
