πŸ”’ National menswear retailer to open Third Ward store

National menswear retailer State & Liberty Clothing is planning to open a store location in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward this winter.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based retailer lists a location on its website at 333 N. Broadway that it says will open in “winter 2025.” The company also has multiple Milwaukee-based job postings on its LinkedIn page.

State & Liberty focuses on athletic-fit clothing, offering a range of professional and casual apparel made with performance stretch fabrics, catering primarily to men with a more athletic build, according to its website. The company also offers custom suits and wedding attire.

Representatives from the company did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The 1,200-square-foot space, which is part of Commission Row, was under construction on Wednesday morning. State & Liberty will fill a vacant storefront between IVme Hydration and Aesthetics and Edie Boutique, which recently moved from another location in the Third Ward.

State & Liberty joins a growing list of national retailers expanding into the Third Ward, including Lululemon, Visual Comfort & Co., Ben & Jerry’sΒ and Sweetgreen.

Founded in 2015 as an online-only retailer, State & Liberty has since grown to operate 40 brick-and-mortar locations across the U.S. and Canada, according to its website.
