Leinenkugel president stepping down from role, successor named

Tony Bugher, president of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co., is stepping down from his role, according to a Wednesday LinkedIn post.

His cousin, Katie Leinenkugel, has been tapped to serve as the company’s next president.

She most recently served as a commercial development program manager for Molson Coors.

“While I’m stepping away from my day‑to‑day role, I’ll always be behind Leinenkugel’s, the Leinie Lodge and everyone who keeps its spirit alive—just from the other side of the bar,” said Bugher.

He hinted that he has already decided on his next career step, which will be announced in the near future.

Bugher represented the sixth generation of Leinenkugel family leadership at the Chippewa Falls-based subsidiary of Molson Coors. He served as president of the company for the past three years.

“It’s an incredible honor to help lead a brewery and a brand with 159 years of heritage, community, and craftsmanship,” said Katie Leinenkugel via a LinkedIn post. “As I take on this role, I’m especially proud to be only the second female president in our family company’s long history. The first was Susan Leinenkugel, daughter of Jacob Leinenkugel, who led the brewery in 1927. Nearly a century later, I’m humbled to follow in her footsteps and the footsteps of every president before me, and continue the legacy of leadership, innovation, and family spirit that defines our iconic brewery.”
