Passenger traffic at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport dipped 7% in 2025 to 5,874,372, down from 6,316,245 in 2024, according to the latest air traffic report from the airport.
That was the lowest number of passengers served at the airport since 2022 when 5,439,055 passengers were served. The decline also ended four consecutive years of passengers gains at the airport.
Passenger traffic at Mitchell International remains behind pre-pandemic levels. In 2019 the airport served 6,894,894 passengers and in 2018 it served 7,096,714.
Several airlines have announced plans to increase activity at Mitchell International Airport this year. Fronter Airlines is adding spring break flights to Las Vegas and Phoenix.
In March, Southwest Airlines is adding flights to Miami on a seasonal basis, Chicago’s Midway International Airport, and additional flights to Austin, Texas. In October, Southwest added flights from Milwaukee to San Diego.
The airport is building a new, $95 million international terminal, which it hopes will increase international flight activity.
