Steve Kohlmann, the executive director of the Brookfield-based Independent Business Association of Wisconsin, and Sue Kohlmann, who provides support services and accounting services for IBAW, are planning to retire, the organization announced.
Steve Kohlmann has been contracted through his firm, Kohlmann Management Group, as executive director for the IBAW and has been involved with the organization for the past 14 years.
Kohlmann Management Group has provided full association management services for IBAW, and will no longer provide those services after April.
“KMG has been key in assisting with IBAW’s growth, expanding its programs, and deepening its commitment to supporting Wisconsin’s independent businesses,” Independent Business Association of Wisconsin board president Andy Oliver said in the announcement. “We are deeply grateful for Steve and Sue’s energy and unwavering dedication to IBAW’s mission. Although we regret our relationship with KMG will come to an end, we wish both Steve and Sue the best in their retirement. We look forward to working with them over the next four months to ensure a smooth transition.”
The IBAW board of directors has started plans for the transition process. A search committee has been formed to find the next association management services firm to handle the executive director role for the organization.
