After five weeks of play, only Sister Bay remains undefeated in the Door County Baseball League. The Bays beat Institute 8-1 Sunday, behind the arm, & bat of Sam Lindenberg. Lindenberg earned his first DCL win & had 3 hits & 3 runs scored. Alex Laughlin added 2 hits & 3 RBI, & Spencer Krause & Stuart Larsen had 2 hits each.
Maplewood suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Egg Harbor 13-8. The two teams combined for six homeruns, Cody Giesseman & Riley Spetz for Egg Harbor, & for Maplewood, Adam Gutschow hit two homeruns, & Jayden Diller & Tory Jandrin homered as well. Corey Fuller & Riley Spetz each had three hits in the win, Spetz drove in four runs. Cody Kissinger, Adam Gutschow, & Jeremiah Janke had three hits each for Maplewood. Riley Spetz earned the win in relief of Joe Sawyer.
Kolberg’s Jake Schneider nearly no-hit Baileys Harbor as the Braves beat the A’s 13-0. Schneider held the A’s hitless through eight & two thirds innings. Schneider hit a grand slam in the win, Devin Schinkten added two hits & Trevor Reinhardt homered as well.
West Jacksonport suffered their third straight one run loss, losing to Washington Island 7-6. A 4-4 tie was broken up in the 7th inning when Ben Geiger hit a two run homerun & Caleb Cornell hit a solo shot, to make it 7-4 Islanders. The Ports Carter Bieri hit a two run shot to pull the Ports within one but that would end the scoring. Ben Geiger, Caleb Cornell, & Alex Johnson had two hits each for the Island. Drew Tanck & Carter Bieri had two each for West Jacksonport. John Kordon earned the win in relief of Ryan Jorgenson.
