The Southern Door boys beat Algoma Tuesday night, 73-63 and junior Drew Daoust became the Eagles and Door County’s all-time scoring leader. Needing 22 points to pass Nathan Vogel, Daoust scored 20 in the opening half. Then with 11:14 to play in the second half, Daoust’s layup put him first all-time. Daoust would end the night with 29 points and 1,574 in less than two and a half seasons. Southern Door (4-0 Packerland / 4-3 overall) led by ten midway through the first half and were up 14 at the break. Algoma would battle back and had the game down to one possession, but the Eagles pulled away late. James Fish III and Caden Pierre each scored 12 points for Southern Door. Chase Romdenne and Cody Kirchman each finished with 17 points to lead Algoma (3-2 / 4-3). Parker Lischka scored 13 points and Grant Vandervest added 11.
