Destination Door County Offering Accessibility Grants

Last week, Destination Door County launched its new Accessibility Mini-Grant Program where local businesses, nonprofits, or government entities may apply for grants up to $1,000 to help increase accessibility to the public. Some of the eligible grant projects may include automatic door openers, ramps, grab bars, lifts, mobi-mats, track chairs, adult changing tables, captioning, audio description of materials, and more. Community Engagement Manager Amanda Stuck says they are trying to help make Door County more available to all our visitors…

What makes this grant program a little different is that it is open to local non-profits and government entities, but also to local businesses as well…

The grants are now available on a first-come, first-served basis. Grant applications will be accepted throughout 2024, or until the program funds are depleted, and new funds will begin in 2025. If you want to know more about these grants or how to apply, Chief Communications Officer Jon Jarosh recommends you contact Amanda Stuck at Destination Door County…

Jarosh says they’ve already gotten some applications this first week of the program, but there are still many of these $1,000 accessibility grants available through 2024. There will then be more of these grants made available again in 2025.
