Eagles beat Lions, Daoust passes Crowe


Southern Door beat Brillion, 68-43, in a non-conference boys basketball game on Thursday. The Eagles (14-2) were leading 14-12 when they went on a 21-3 run to close the half and the Lions (10-6) never were closer than 14 points the rest of the night. Drew Daoust finished with a game high 27 points but only 8 in the first half as Lauden Berg (13) Tyler Neinas and Caden Pierre combined to score 24 of their first 29 points. Owen Krepline hit six three pointers and finished with 24 points to lead Brillion.

On his final basket of the game with 2:26 to play, Daoust passed Mickey Crowe of JFK Prep (1975) for second on the all time Wisconsin scoring list. Daoust has 2,725 points, trailing only Wausaukee’s Anthony Pieper who finished his career in 1993 with 3,391.
