Fatality In Saturday Two Vehicle Crash in Kewaunee County


On Saturday at approximately 4:43PM, the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the Intersection of CTH AB and CTH F in the town of Montpelier. Upon arrival, it was determined that there were in fact a total of nine individuals involved in the accident.

Initial investigation determined that a vehicle which was traveling westbound on CTH F failed to stop at the controlled intersection and struck a vehicle which was traveling northbound on CTH AB. The vehicle that failed to stop was a 2018 Toyota SUV driven by a 29-year-old male subject from Green Bay. In that vehicle were 4 passengers in addition to the driver. All of the occupants of that vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay.

The vehicle traveling northbound on CTH AB was a 2018 Chevy SUV driven by a 72-year-old male subject from DePere. In that vehicle were also 3 passengers, one of which died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. The driver and other passenger were transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay.

The extent of injuries to those involved are unknown at the time of this release.

In addition to units from the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department that responded to the scene were Luxemburg Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Luxemburg Fire and Rescue responded and were assisted in treatments and transports by Kewaunee Rescue, Algoma Rescue and Montpelier First Responders, as well as Units from Green Bay Metro Fire and Rescue. One individual was transported by air through Theda Star Medical Transportation.

The names of those involved are not being released at this time, to allow for family notifications.

This incident remains under investigation by the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team.
