Islanders Upset Braves in DCL


Washington Island Upset Kolberg Sunday 5-2. Caleb Cornell had two hits for the Islanders including a 3-run homer. Cam Munao & Troy Jorgenson also had 2 hits each, Jon Kordon picked up the win. Jack Peterson had 2 hits for Kolberg including a home run.

Sister Bay beat Egg Harbor 13-1. The Bays led 12-0 before the Indians scored their lone run in the 6th. Griffin Cole had 3 hits & drove in 5 runs. Alex Laughlin, Tom Sawyer, Spencer Krause, Matt Hecht, Stuart Larsen, & Sawyer Johnson all had 2 hits in the win, which went to Sam Lindenberg. Cody Giesseman had 2 of Egg Harbor’s 4 hits.

Maplewood doubled up Institute 6-3. The Mets took a 2-0 lead in the first & never trailed. Zach Marchant had 2 hits including a home run. Kordell Draves had 3 hits in the win & drove in 2 runs. Jeremiah Jahnke picked up the win. Caleb Hoffman & Kyle Ploor had a pair of hits each for the Cubs.

Baileys Harbor had a comeback win over West Jacksonport 8-7. Down 5-4, the A’s scored four runs in the top of the 9th, then held on for the win. Elvis Torres had three hits including a double, Chris Lodl, Hunter Pawelski, & Aaron Brey all had 2 hits for Baileys Harbor, Brey got the win. Alec Schartner doubled twice as part of a 3-hit day, CJ Goetz & Carter Bieri both homered & had 2 hits each.
