Southern Door Goes 1-1 At Preble Tournament


The Southern Door boys lost in the championship game of the Green Bay Preble Holiday Tournament, falling to Mosinee Friday, 87-82. Down 15 in the second half, the Eagles rallied and tied the game at 80 with 1:24 to play in regulation. However, the Indians outscored the Eagles 7-2 over the final minute. Drew Daoust scored 30 of his game high 45 points in the second half. Lauden Berg finished with 13 points and Matthew Malvitz scored 10 points as Southern Door (5-4) had its three game winning streak come to an end. Keagan Jirschele finished with 35 points as Mosinee (9-1) won their fifth straight.

Thursday:
The Southern Door boys basketball team beat Milwaukee Washington, 71-49. The Eagles (5-3) closed the opening half on an 11-1 run and were up 20 at the break. Drew Daoust scored 32 points as Southern Door won its third straight game. Matthew Malvitz added 10 points in the win. Rudolph Baker finished with 31 points for Milwaukee Washington (1-8).
