The Gibraltar/Washington Island baseball team beat Sevastopol, 19-2, in a Packerland Conference baseball opener at Billerbeck Field on Tuesday. The Vikings scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first inning as Brady Kita singled and tripled and scored twice. Bennet Isaacson and Araon Brey finished with two hits while Luke Rericha, Cam Munao and Jaxin Lindgren all had an RBI in the game. Chase Haberli had a two run double in the second inning for the Pioneers, scoring Frankie de Young and Oliver Matthews. The Vikings took advantage of 15 walks/2 HBP/5 errors for a busy day on the bases.
