Waukesha-based Badger Distribution Inc., a food warehousing, distribution and transloading company, is planning to consolidate its operations into one large facility in Sussex.
The company plans to purchase a 192,000-square-foot facility at N53 W24700 S. Corporate Circle, previously occupied by Amazon, and transfer operations there from its three existing facilities in Waukesha and one in Germantown. Badger Distribution plans to purchase the building from Amazon, which still owns the building, according to county records.
The new facility will have capacity for 15 semi-truck deliveries per day and will operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The company will employ 30 full-time staff at its new facility, according to village documents.
Badger Distribution is a distributor of bulk food ingredients and products servicing southeastern Wisconsin. Its service area includes metro Milwaukee, north to Sheboygan, west to Madison, and south to Beloit and Kenosha, according to its website.
The company declined to comment on its plans to consolidate operations to Sussex.
The Sussex building was originally built for Huffy Sports. Later, Quad/Graphics used it for several years for QuadMed operations and paper storage.
