De Pere-based Seroogy’s Chocolates, known for its chocolate Meltaway Bars, announced that Martha Seroogy will succeed her father and uncle as the fourth-generation president of the family-owned business.
In her role, Seroogy will oversee operations, brand strategy and long-term growth initiatives for the 126-year-old company, according to a press release.
Becoming president marks Seroogy’s return to the family business after nearly two decades away. She previously served as a senior executive for Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent residency in Hawaii as well as vice president of marketing and partnerships for New York jazz club conglomerate Blue Note Entertainment Group.
Seroogy succeeds her father and uncle Joe and Jim Seroogy after the duo co-led the business for more than 40 years. The brothers oversaw the company’s expansion, growing from 1,200 square feet of retail and production space to over 70,000 square feet today. The brothers also led the growth of the brand’s signature Meltaway Bar, which now produces nearly 3 million bars annually and serves as a primary engine for community fundraising efforts, according to the press release.
“My dad and uncle didn’t just grow a business; they built a community staple,” Martha said. “Returning home to lead Seroogy’s is an incredible honor. Their focus on quality, integrity and people shaped this company. My goal is to preserve that legacy while evolving the brand for the next generation.”
In addition to welcoming a new president, the company also announced its new Strawberry Meltaway Bar, the first new flavor to be introduced in five years. The bar was released on Feb. 3 and is currently sold out, according to its website.
Seroogy’s has two brick-and-mortar shops located in De Pere and Ashwaubenon.
