City of Milwaukee buys building in 30th Street Industrial Corridor for .8 million






The City of Milwaukee has purchased a 106,500-square-foot industrial building within the 30th Street Industrial Corridor area on the northwest side for $1.8 million, according to state records.

The warehouse, built in 1903, is located on a 10-acre site at 3282 N. 35th St. The property has an assessed value of $1.5 million, according to city records.

The city purchased the building from a Mequon-based affiliate of United Milwaukee Scrap, the previous user of the building.

According to sources, the building will be used for a city Department of Public Works facility. A spokesperson for DPW declined to comment.
