Celebrating 60 years of business
When Raymond and Robert Doro founded Industrial Erecting Co. Inc. in 1966, they saw more than an opening in Milwaukee’s industrial market, they saw momentum. Specializing in machinery moving, rigging and the installation of manufacturing equipment, the father/son duo built a reputation for precision, grit and follow-through.
Just a few years later, that entrepreneurial instinct struck again. In 1972, Robert Doro identified the need for a live roller accumulating conveyor, secured a patent and launched Doral Corporation.
For decades, Industrial Erecting and Doral operated as complementary but independent companies, delivering contracting services and fabricated products to manufacturers across the region. In 2007, under third-generation owner Scott Doro, the companies merged into what is now Doral Corporation, a unified organization rooted in legacy and built for the future.
While equipment and innovation have shaped Doral’s growth, the company’s greatest success story is its people.
Through trade apprenticeships in Sheet Metal, Ironworkers and Millwrights, supported by strong administrative and operational teams, Doral has cultivated careers that span generations.
Its longest-tenured employee, Scott Anson, exemplifies that trajectory. Starting as a shop helper 44 years ago, Anson rose through the ranks to become Field Superintendent, now overseeing more than 300 people across the Milwaukee area. His journey reflects Doral’s belief that when you invest in individuals, entire families and communities thrive.
At a time when many companies cite workforce shortages as a barrier, Doral continues to actively recruit young people, often straight out of high school, who are eager to build careers in the skilled trades. The search for driven, committed talent remains both the company’s greatest challenge and its most important investment.
Looking ahead, Doral sees significant opportunity in the rapid expansion of data centers and evolving industrial infrastructure. At the same time, leaders remain mindful of emerging pressures, from labor availability to the broader impact of AI across industries.
