Phase One of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Restoration Complete

We recently caught up with Door County Historical Society Executive Director Amy Frank regarding the current restoration project at their Eagle Bluff Lighthouse property, and she shared how they finished phase 1 of that project Tuesday. This phase included immediate stabilization of the structure, and many other improvement details which Frank shares with us here…

Now, going into phase 2, which includes work on the lighthouse interior, they will also look towards reconstruction of some outbuildings on the property. Frank says that phase will begin next spring, but they are currently submitting those plans for approval and fundraising for this phase…

One of this summer’s biggest improvements at the lighthouse is the installation of electricity to the property. They’ve arranged all easements and inspections for burying that electric line, and they should be breaking ground in a few weeks…

The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is still open for tours everyday from 1AM to 3PM through October. For more information on the restoration project you can find updates on the historical society website at doorcountyhistoricalsociety.org
