Fans of the TV game show “Wheel of Fortune” will get to know Milwaukee a little better this week thanks to an upcoming episode highlighting the Brew City.
A Milwaukee-themed episode of “Wheel of Fortune” will air Thursday, April 23. Contestants on the show will compete for a grand prize that includes a stay at The Pfister Hotel, dining with The Bartolotta Restaurants, a culinary class at Lakefront Brewery and entertainment at Potawatomi Casino Hotel, according to a press release Tuesday from Visit Milwaukee. “Wheel Watchers Club” members also have the chance to enter to win give-away vacations to Milwaukee.

Other cities to be featured during the week include Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; Monterey, California; St. Augustine, Florida; and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Prize packages also include experiences at the Saint Kate hotel, VIP access to Summerfest and curated Milwaukee Theater District outings, alongside partners including Harbor House, Lake Park Bistro, Carnevor Steakhouse, Kegel’s Inn, 3rd Street Market Hall, City Tours MKE, and the Pabst Theater Group. Each prize package includes tickets to the Harley-Davidson Museum.

“This is about telling Milwaukee’s story on one of the most recognizable stages in television,” said Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of Visit Milwaukee. “From our culinary scene to our festivals and iconic brands, this Milwaukee episode brings the very best of our city to millions of viewers.”
Now in its 43rd season, “Wheel of Fortune” averages 8 million viewers per episode.
Milwaukee’s “Wheel of Fortune” episode is a sponsored placement by Visit Milwaukee as part of its overall marketing spend and new “Flavor Era” national marketing strategy launched earlier this year. Further amplifying that campaign is the city’s inclusion in the forthcoming American Great Lakes Michelin Guide, announced earlier this month.
Visit’s deal with Wheel of Fortune includes placements in Wheel Watchers Club communications and on WheelofFortune.com as well as a targeted out-of-home campaign in Milwaukee and Chicago. Some local businesses are jumping on the opportunity with themed menu specials and watch parties, including a public viewing event at the Bar at Saint Kate from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The Milwaukee episode airs locally at 6:30 p.m. on CBS 58 and in markets nationwide. The episodes will also stream the following day on Hulu and Peacock, supported by Visit Milwaukee’s national social media campaign.
