Froedtert ThedaCare has named Seraphine Kapsandoy-Jones as its new chief nursing executive and senior vice president, the health system announced Thursday.

Kapsandoy-Jones will join the health system in June, serving as its top nursing executive and leading systemwide nursing strategy, clinical alignment and workforce development efforts.

In the role, she will oversee nursing teams across the organization and work with executive and clinical leaders to improve patient care, safety and collaboration across care sites, according to the announcement. The health system said she also will focus on leadership development and building a “future-ready” nursing workforce.

“Kapsandoy-Jones will help shape the future of nursing across our health system, which is dedicated to helping individuals live their unique, best lives,” said Imran Andrabi, president and CEO of Froedtert ThedaCare. “She has a track record of elevating nursing practice, leading transformational change and being proactive partners in health.”

Kapsandoy-Jones most recently served as vice president of population health and clinical operations at Centene Corporation in St. Louis, where she led the company’s Population Health Innovation Strategy. Her previous experience also includes leadership roles in health systems as a chief clinical information officer and adjunct assistant professor.

She began her nursing career as a registered nurse in a trauma and transplant unit in Salt Lake City.
