Milwaukee-based Third Space Brewing is partnering with the City of West Allis to open a new beer garden this summer in Liberty Heights Park.
Operating out the new Liberty Heights Park Pavilion, the beer garden will open June 5, running Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 29. In addition to Third Space brews, it will serve a rotating selection of beer from West Allis’s local craft breweries along with canned alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and pre-packaged snack foods. There will also be live music most evenings and rotating food trucks.

Liberty Heights Park is located at 1540 S. 62nd St. in West Allis, one block south of Greenfield Avenue. Its new pavilion includes a large, outdoor covered patio area with several picnic tables and a section of tables closer to the playground area. The park also includes a splash pad, volleyball court, tennis courts and baseball fields.
“Few experiences match the ‘third space’ concept as well as the community beer garden,” said Andy Gehl, president and co-founder of Third Space. “We strive to create a welcoming space for neighbors to gather, to watch their kids play together on the playground, or to simply grab a beer and a bite to eat over some good conversation in the neighborhood.”
The West Allis beer garden adds to the craft brewer’s growing retail presence across the Milwaukee area. It has operated a similar beer garden at Elm Grove Village Park since 2021, running this season Wednesdays through Sundays from May 1 through mid-October. Third Space also recently opened its Innovation Brewhouse, a restaurant and taproom in Menomonee Falls. The company opened its flagship brewery location, which includes a taproom and beer garden, in 2016 at 1505 W. St. Paul Ave. in Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley. Third Space distributes its products throughout the state of Wisconsin.
“Bringing a beer garden to Liberty Heights Park will bring energy to this neighborhood and create a welcoming gathering spot for residents and visitors alike,” said West Allis Mayor Dan Devine. “It will draw people to our community who may not have ventured here recently, giving them a chance to experience all the new things our city has to offer.”
Third Space Brewing will contribute a portion of all sales to the City of West Allis for use on park improvements and future programming. It will also host a series of community spotlight nights to support local nonprofits.
The West Allis beer garden will mark its grand opening with an event and ribbon cutting on June 5 at 4 p.m. Operating hours will be Fridays, 4-9 p.m., and Saturdays, 3-9 p.m.
